Kick-started to capitalisation activities

meditinIn early October 2012 the Launching High-Level Conference of the MEDITERRANEAN INITIATIVE project was held in Taormina (Italy). Its aims are focused on establishing the highest quality standards in the field of market protection and border controls, as well as in trade facilitation and revenue collection, based on a strict cooperation among Mediterranean countries, by means of sharing their knowledge on this subject. In this way, nine countries are involved (Italy, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey) through their respective customs agencies.

Due to synergies with the CUSTOM MED project, its partners were invited to participate in this conference. Moreover, taking advantage of this fact, it was held the first Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of this project.
