L1030664 MediumAqaba Development Corporation (ADC) has formally closed the Custom-Med project during a full day conference convened in Aqaba on 4th December, 2014 . Where the partners in the project presented their roles, achievements and the ways of collaboration.

The partners of this project including Aqaba Development Corporation, University of Genoa- from Italy, Lebanese Customs P.A.- from Lebanon, FEPORTS and Alicante Port Authority – from Spain, and Piraeus Port Authority- from Greece.

The Assistant chief Executive officer of the ADC , Dr. Eng. Abdel Raof Darwish pointed out that the Custom Med project was launched in Aqaba in April 2012 and funded by European Union through European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) initiative. The objective of the project is to Improve the goods circulation between the Middle East and the European countries by networking and adopting shared procedures and technology as well as to improve border management to increase transparency and efficiency in trade and border transactions, and reduce obstacles to free movement of goods.

The conference summarized the objectives of the whole project and it showed the initiatives taken by all partners from visiting ports, SWOT analysis, implementation of information system and share regulations on the project website.
