Welcome to the CUSTOM MED project website – Improving the goods circulation between the Middle East and the EU by networking and adopting shared procedures and technologies.
The project is funded by the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme (ENPI CBC Med), within its Priority 3 "Promotion of better conditions and modalities for ensuring the mobility of persons, goods and capitals, supporting the flows of people among territories as a cultural, social and economic plus for countries on both shores, and improving the conditions and modalities of circulation of goods and capitals among the territories." And, in turn, within its Measure 3.2 " Improvement of conditions and modalities of circulation of goods and capitals among the territories". CUSTOM MED total budget is € 1.163.186 of which € 1.046.867 as ENPI contribution (90%).
The Project is developed by six entities from different regions of the Mediterranean, in five different countries:
The general goal of the project is urging Mediterranean and Middle East Countries to improve border management operations and customs procedures, to increase transparency and efficiency in trade and border transactions, to reduce administrative and institutional obstacles to free movement of people.
Thanks to CUSTOM MED, the several parties involved will have the chance to swap cultural points of view, and share best practices and know-how.; above all, they shall lay the foundations for the implementation of shared and common strategies and goals, thanks to an improved cooperation at a customs transnational level.
